Scout the Golden Retriever Dog Friendly Road Trip

Welcome to western Washington with its wild and rugged scenery, charming small towns, the 28-mile longest beach in the US on the Long Beach Peninsula, Olympic National Park—a UNESCO World Heritage Site and International Biosphere Reserve—the spectacular islands of Whidbey and Bainbridge, and the 68-mile natural fjord of Hood Canal. Lake Quinault Lodge

This grand, rustic lodge on the border of a lake and rainforest was built in 1926. It’s warm and inviting, President Roosevelt has even dined here! Pets welcome and there is a pet fee.

Ruby Beach

One of the most photographed beaches on the west coast with its “ghost-like” sea stacks, huge surf-tossed logs, and bald eagles. A short ¼ mile hike will provide access to the beach and breathtaking views out over the Pacific Ocean. Enjoy a little time beachcombing, taking photos, and just breathing deeply! Pets are allowed on the beach on a leash.

Kalaloch Beach & the Tree of Life

A marine sanctuary with a variety of protected coastal habitats boasting sandy beaches to rocky headlands. Pets are allowed on the beach on a leash. From the Kalaloch Campground Day Use Area, find the trail to the beach access. Once on the beach, it’s a short walk north along the beach which will bring you to the Tree of Life.

Domaine Madeleine

This is a gem of a place. A spectacular getaway perched on a bluff overlooking the sea. From here you can easily explore Hurricane Ridge, Ruby Beach, go whale watching, or just grab a glass of wine & take in the epic views of the San Juan Islands & Victoria in the distance.

Hurricane Ridge

Hurricane Ridge is a mountain citadel that puts you at the edge of the park’s jagged peaks. From the summit, a 360-degree view embraces the surrounding mountains and the San Juan Islands. It’s absolutely not to be missed.
