Drive along Hwy. 101 past the administrative offices of the Willapa Wildlife Refuge and Salmon and Cutthroat trails. Park at the small pull-out on the far side of Teal Slough. A short uphill hike on an old logging road past a gate leads to discrete signs pointing the way to old-growth fir, spruce, and cedar trees. Pick a spot (or more) to get quiet and breathe in their majesty. While the loop trail is only half a mile, plan extra time to “bathe” amidst these ancient giants. Head home more focused, relaxed and refreshed.
